african land grabbing ?

 

a parte rwanda e uganda (vedi post del 18 giugno 2022), negli altri paesi africani la terra è ancora MOLTO abbondante molta della quale non ancora coltivata, 

quella coltivata è nelle mani di produttori di sussistenza con meno di 2 ha per famiglia (la stessa situazione delle campagne italiane dopo la II guerra mondiale) che rappresentano l'85% del totale ma controllano solo il 35% della terra che lavorano con tecniche dell'età del ferro (i romani erano di gran lunga più avanzati), il 10 % dei produttori ha dai 4 ai 20 ha (50% della terra) ed il rimanente 5% con > 20 ha (15% della terra lavorata).

a moi avviso il famoso LAND GRABBING in africa sembra appena iniziato !  

quando le ultime terre in asia (indonesia, malesia, cambogia, PNG, ecc.) saranno date in concessione (succederà tra pochissimo) alle grandi multinazionali agroindistriali cinesi (ma non solo) ed in america latina buona parte delle foresta amazzonica sarà stata convertita in campi di soia e pascoli per alimentre i nostri polli e il latte di vacca

e la popolazione mondiale sarà vicino ai 10 miliardi (nel 2050 9,8 miliardi) 

 e quella africana (sempre nel 2050) raggiungera i 2,5 miliardi dai 1,4 attuali  - che corrispondernno al  23% della popolazione mondiale (la crescita popolazionale in africa reppresenterà più del 50% di quella globale) ....

allora SI che comincerà il vero land grabbing in africa...........

quindi il tema è:

saranno le politiche nazionali in grado di offrire terra e knowledge ai produttori africani o verranno date in concessione le terre migliori a investitori stranieri ? 

le due cose sono fattibili e in principio auspicabili (soprattutto perchè capacità e capitali sono ancora fattori scarsi nel continente africano, quindi ben vengano gli stranieri!) 

ma basandosi su quello che è successo e sta succedendo con altre risorse naturali (forestali e minerarie) è altamente probabile che i politici africani a cambio di poche mazzette optino SOLO per la seconda ipotesi

RWANDA e UGANDA beautiful and enigmatic / bellissimi e molto enigmatici

 

da kigoma siamo letteralmente corsi a tappe forzate a nairobi attraversando il rwanda e l'uganda di cui abbiamo potuto apprezzare solamente i paesaggi dal finestrino della toyota e le due capitali kigali e kampala - certamente vale la pena spendere molto più tempo in questi due piccoli, molto montagnosi ma popolatissimi paesi - ci sono numerosissimi parchi nazionali tra cui quelli dedicati ai famosi GORILLA

quello che non farò mai, in rwanda, è quello di pagare 1.500 $ (!!!!) per stare 30 min con una famiglia di gorilla ! anche in uganda ci sono ma non so a quale prezzo, quindi per il momento i gorilla me li sono visti nelle statue di pietra che adornano i giardini e i palazzi 😆😆😆😆😆

from kigoma we literally ran in forced stages to nairobi crossing rwanda and uganda of which we could only appreciate the landscapes from the toyota window and the two capitals kigali and kampala - certainly it is worth spending much more time in these two small ones, very mountainous but very populated countries 

 

there are numerous national parks including those dedicated to the famous GORILLA ..... what i will never do, in rwanda, is to pay 1,500 $ (!!!!) to stay 30 min with a family of gorillas! even in uganda there are but I don't know at what price,

 

so for the moment I have only seen the gorillas in the stone statues that adorn the gardens and palaces 😆😆😆😆😆

tornando alla situazione di questi paesi, si nota uno stacco impressionante con quelli recentamente visitati come lo zambia e la tanzania, il rwanda ha una densità popolazionale piu del doppio dell'italia (500 persone / Km2 contro le 200 in italia), l'uganda ha una densità pari all'italia adesso ma raddoppierà in pochissimi anni passando da una popolazione di 48.000.000 attuali 107.000.000 (!!!) nel 2050 ....mentre l'italia se continua a limitare l'entrata di migranti e senza politiche di incentivi vedrà ridotta e invecchiata la sua popolazione totale .......

 le proiezioni della popolazione africana per il 2050 sono impressionanti, 2.500.000.000 (2,5 miliardi, adesso sono 1,4 circa), il 23 % della popolazione mondiale, l'africa contribuira per oltre il 50% della crescita mondiale ....

la popolazione africana arriverà ancora in massa in europa, su questo il nostro buffone di turno leghista ed altri populisti europei si dovrnno rassegnare, ma è divertente pensare che le loro pensioni (purtroppo d'oro) saranno in gran parte pagate dalle tasse degli africani o altri starnieri che attualmente lavorano o che arriveranno in europa ... e che loro disprezzano !

i due paesi, dopo decenni di guerre civili in cui la responsabilità degli ex paesi coloniali (leggi francia in rwanda) è stata purtroppo importante (in rwanda poi culminate con il famoso genocidio del 1.000.000 di tutsi del 1994 ma anche in uganda le vittime sono state tantissime), stanno sperimentado crescite economiche superlative promosse da gorverni molto autoritari (chi diceva che la democrazia è un lusso dei poveri ?) e finanziate da risorse esterne (il livello di indebitamento è cresciuto notevolmente ) per creare infrastrutture, servizi ed educazione.... nella speranza che le future generazioni siano capaci di alimentare i settori industriali e di servizi (turismo, IT, ecc.) del paese diversificando un'economia che attualmentre è prevalentemente rurale (anche nelle esportazioni, principalmente caffè e tea)..... 

in caso contrario ce li troviamo tutti a lampedusa con master in economia e sicuramente più istruiti dei nostri giovani NEET sudisti (No Employment No Education, No Training = NEET = che tradotto sarebbe non fanno un cazzo) che adesso prendono il reddito di cittadinanza a cambio di niente .... salvini aiutaci tu 😂😂😂 !

insomma sono paesi che restano per me molto enigmatici e sicuramente vale la pena visitarli nuovamente e solo dopo buone letture previe ......

MY RECIPIES n. 6 (for the first 5 see the post of the 10th of June)

 

Recipie VI - ugali alla pizzaiola ! - slice the ugali - in a pan fry chopped fresh tomatoe with garlic and tymus (or oregan) without letting the sauce drying too much, ad the sliced ugali and cover with mozzarella cheese -

tap the pan with a lid, the pizzaiola is ready when the the mozzarella is well melted ......

serve alone like a starter or combined with rice, managu green leafs (Solanum sspp) and beans - 😋😋😋

TANZANIA / KIGOMA

prima di attraversare il confine con il rwanda siamo tornati a kigoma dove 39 anni fa abbiamo preso una vecchia  nave tedesca dell'epoca della colonia...il  LIEMBA ... per visitare il sud del lago tanganika ... la nave è ancora in servizio!

kigoma è una bellissima cittadina sul tanganika ... una vecchia stazione sempre tedesca della colonia e un camping sul lago con zebra ... gatta e coccodrilli 

la gatta mangia patate e fagioli ... a cena si è pappata 3 patate e un mestolo di fagioli e cipolle ... ALTRO CHE CROCCANTINI E SCATOLETTE gourmet per cui spendiamio più di quello che buona parte degli africani poveri spende per vivere 😡🤬🤬🤬 ... al mio ritorno a casa metto a dieta i miei 2 gatti (pako e pesty) a patate e carote 

dei coccodrilli ce ne siamo accorti solo dopo aver fatto tradurre il cartello sulla costa ...KUNA MAMBA (ci sono coccodrilli)  ! ma avevamo già fatto il bagno!

before crossing the border into rwanda we went back to kigoma where 39 years ago we took an old german ship from the colonial era ... the LIEMBA ... to visit the south of lake tanganyika ... the ship is still in service! 

 

 kigoma is a beautiful town on Tanganyika ... an old German station of the colony and a camping on the lake with zebra ... cat and crocodiles  

 

the cat eats potatoes and beans ... for dinner she ate 3 potatoes and a ladle of beans and onions ... certainly NOT tha gourmet food for which we spend more than what most poor Africans spend on living 😡🤬🤬 🤬 ... on my return home I put my 2 cats (pako and pesty) on a diet with potatoes and carrots  

 

we only noticed hat there were crocodiles after having translated the sign on the coast ... KUNA MAMBA (there are crocodiles)! but we had already taken a bath!

TANZANIA SCONOSCIUTA / TANZANIA OUT OF THE BEATEN TRACKS – NKONDWE waterfalls

tra il katavi NP e kigoma trovate le bellissime cascate del NKONDWE 

sgorgano da un fiume sotterraneo ...la zona è carsica ... e cadono per circa 30 mt in una vegetazione lussureggiante 

potete benissimo farvi una splendida doccia sotto le cascate !

il camping si trova sotto le cascate ed è decente ed è l'unico esistente in zona se non volete fare campeggio libero

between katavi NP and kigoma you will find the beautiful NKONDWE waterfalls flow from an underground river ... the area is karst ... and fall for about 30 meters in lush vegetation  

 

you can very well take a wonderful shower under the falls!  

 

the campsite is located below the falls and is decent and is the only one in the area if you don't want to go free camping

SOME OF MY VERY QUICK RECIPES WHEN CAMPING / ALCUNE DELLE MIE RAPIDISSIME LE RICETTE QUANDO CAMPEGGIO 

you arrive at 5:30 pm at the camping site and you are very hungry and would get very hangry if you have to wait too much for food

Ricetta I - Pasta al pomodoro con avocado: 

un semplice sugo di pomodoro fresco e cipolla rossa  (africani) a cui si aggiunge dopo spento il fuoco della padella una manciata di capperi (italiani) e un avocado maturo (africano) e una spolverata di timo (italiano)

squisito

 Recipe I - Tomato Pasta with Avocado:  

a simple sauce of fresh tomato and red onion (African) .. a handful of capers (Italian) and a ripe avocado (African) and a sprinkling of thyme (Italian) are added after turning off the heat of the pan

delicious 

Ricetta II - pasta di manioca fritta con formaggio, fagioli e avocado: 

tagliate la massa di manioca in fette e friggete su olio di girasole (Heliantus annum) o palma da olio (Eleais guinnensis) spremuti a freddo localmente e coprite le fette bollento con formaggio a fette (sottilette parmalat le migliori !)  

poi servite con fagioli africani e avocado e uova sode

oppure servire con un tipo di spinaci africane

 Recipe II - fried cassava paste with cheese, beans and avocado:

 cut the cassava mass into slices and fry on locally cold-pressed sunflower oil (Heliantus annum) or palm oil (Eleais guinnensis) and cover the hot slices with sliced cheese (parmalat slices the best!) 

 then serve with African beans and avocado and hard-boiled eggs

or some kind of green spinachs like the leafs of gombo or niebè (Vigna sspp)

Ricetta III - riso fagioli (e cipolle) e huajamole di avocado / patate / pomodori (anche uova sode come lo stile centroafricano) - tutti prodotti che trovate anche in africa

Recipe III - rice beans (with onoins) and huajamole (avocado, potatoes, tomatoes and eggs as central america style) - all ingredients that you can find in Africa

Recipe IV - polenta - instant polenta ... italian ...or corn / casava flour (10 min cooking)

accompanied with avocado beans and tomato + red onion sauce

Recipe V - fresh beans and fresh green peas (separately cooked) with plain rice

 diciamo pure che la cucina africana attuale subsahariana si basa fondamentalmente sul consumo di carni di ogni tipo, tagliata generalmente piuttosto male e, d'accordo la mia personale esperienza, non ha raggiunto livelli di elaborazione comparibili con altri tipi di sistemi culinari 

detta affermazione ha un grosso limite, infatti

1) un viaggiatore che può accedere solamente a ristoranti locali non ha il tempo per  approfondire la conoscenza dei piatti che vengono giornalmente elaborati dalle comuni famiglie 

2) i piatti tradizionali africani NON sono generalmente offerti nei risporanti in quanto (come risultato di personale inchiesta) non sono considerati di qualità accettabile ... se consideriamo che l'elaborazione del cibo rappresenta un aspetto fondamentale dell'identità culturale di un popolo, lascio a voi le conclusioni su come gli africani considerano se stessi ... direi che avrebbero estremo bisogno di aumentate la propria autostima ...

vedere  in merito blog sul contributo dell'africa alla cultura planetaria (pubblicato il 26 aprile 2022)  ...certamente superiore a quello  di altre civiltà tecnologicamente più avanzate ...

quindi c'è un sacco di lavoro da fare per conoscere e valorizzare la cucina ei i prodotti tradizionali africani

detto ciò ...  nel contesto di questo blog non posso che rimandare alla pagina 

CUCINA AFRICANA x VEGETARIANI / AFRICAN VEGGY FOOD & CUISINE di questo blogdove indicherò UNICAMENTE SULLA BASE DELLA MIA ESPERIENZA PERSONALE prodotti ... piatti ... e luoghi utili per apprezzare la cucina africana VEGETARIANA ...NON VEGANA (con tutto il dovuto rispetto, i vegani mi stanno sulle palle)

e ai post di ricette elaborate dallo scrivente in cui uso prodotti africani coime ingredienti principali o secondari

...  sono diventato vegetariano 22 anni fa dopo aver lavorato anni nelle frontiere agricole con le foreste tropicali (le frontiere agricole sono le zone agricole estreme con la foresta dove la carne di manzo o la soia per alimentare i polli o le vacche da latte che mangiate tutti i giorni e sono prodotte a scapito appunto della foresta stessa che si riduce  ...) ... vi siete mai chiesti da dove viene la carne dei burger di mc donald o quella dei polli del KFC ? tutte a scapito delle foreste tropicali e pompate con ormoni (vi assicuro che anche le vacche allevate nelle zone più remote al limite della foresta tropicale sono trattate con ormoni ...)

in altre parole avevo una chiara idea di come le cose si sarebbero evolute in termini di cambiamento climatico

adesso che sapete, potreste anche voi optare per una dieta veggy ... o con consumo molto limitato di carne e pesce 

sui formaggi direi che quelli di pecora e capra sono da preferire in quanto la loro produzione dipende limitatamente da grani importati e prodotti a scapito delle foreste ancora esistenti

credo CHE DARE L'ESEMPIO E' LA SOLA MANIERA DI CAMBIARE LE COSE E SENTIRSI MOLTO MEGLIO CON SE STESSI ...non lo dico solo io ma  non ricordo chi altro ...molto più famoso di me ... l'ha detto

I would say that they badly need to increase their self-esteem ...

then, there is a lot of work to do to get to know and enhance traditional African cuisine and products 

having said that ... in the context of this blog I can only refer to the AFRICAN VEGGY FOOD & CUISINE page of this blog where I will indicate ONLY ON THE BASIS OF MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE products ... dishes ... and useful places to appreciate African cuisine VEGETARIAN ... NOT VEGAN (with all due respect, vegans are on my balls) ... 

I will also post some recipies elaborated by miself where I use african food ...

I became a vegetarian 22 years ago after working years in the agricultural borders with tropical forests (agricultural borders are the extreme agricultural areas bording the forests where beef or soy to feed the chickens or dairy cows are produced at the expense of the forest itself ...) ... have you ever wondered where the meat of Mc Donald's burgers or that of KFC's chickens comes from? 

all at the expense of the tropical forests and pumped with hormones (I assure you that even the cows raised in the most remote areas at the edge of the tropical forest are treated with hormones ...) 

in other words, I had a clear idea of ​​how things were going to evolve in terms of climate change 

 now that you also know, you could also opt for a veggy diet ... or with very limited consumption of meat and fish or cheeses 

I would say that sheep and goat meat and cheese are to be preferred as their production depends to a limited extent on imported grains produced at the expense of the still existing forests 

I strongly believe that GIVING THE EXAMPLE IS THE ONLY WAY OF CHANGING THINGS AND FEELING MUCH BETTER WITH YOURSELF ...

KATAWI NP ... TANZANIA SCONOSCIUTA / TANZANIA OUT OF THE BEATEN TRACKS – KATAVI national park

Da sumbawanga, il katawi national park è uno dei migliori parchi nazionali ma senza praticamente turisti … sul fiume che attraversa il parco e paludi circostanti si possono vedere branchi di centinaia di bufali, decine di ippopotami, coccodrilli (andate all’IKUU bridge) e tantissime specie di uccelli …

Ci sono poi percorsi molto difficili per amanti del 4x4 dopo la laguna chiamata ‘paradise’ … noi ci siamo infossati 2 volte e, credetemi, non siamo dilettanti! Ma ce l’abbiamo fatta senza aiuto esterno (avremmo dovuto passare la notte li, poi camminare 10 km tra coccodrilli e leoni e forse trovare qualcuno capace di tirarci fuori …. un incubo) 

nota dolente, la gestione dei campsite interni al parco è poverissima, le toilette sono sporchissime e senza acqua (costo 30 $ a persona!) - meglio scavare un buco vicino la macchina - il personale è molto scortese e non parla un inglese comprensibile 

consiglio fortemente accamparsi fuori dal parco (river site park campsite)...

 From sumbawanga, katawi national park is one of the best national parks but practically without tourists ... 

on the river that crosses the park and surrounding swamps you can see herds of hundreds of buffaloes, dozens of hippos, crocodiles (go to the IKUU bridge) and many bird species ... 

There are also very difficult routes for 4x4 lovers after the lagoon called 'paradicìse' ... we have buried ourselves twice and, believe me, we are not amateurs! But we did it without outside help (we should have spent the night there, then walk 10 km among crocodiles and lions and perhaps find someone capable of pulling us out .... a nightmare) 

 sore point, the management of the campsites inside the park is very poor, the toilets are very dirty and without water (cost $ 30 per person!) - better to dig a hole near the car - the staff are very rude and do not speak understandable English 

I strongly recommend camping outside the park (river site park campsite).
